This geocoin is dedicated to my good friend Robert Michael Smithwick in San José, California, USA. Please take it on a trip to San José and drop it in a cache in this town. Do not select caches in places that requires climbing gear or Scuba Gear. When the coin reaches San José, it is of outmost importance, that it is not removed from its final destination. Mike Smithwick will pick up his coin as he is following it closely. Please, all you lovely geocachers out there on this beautiful round oasis. Help this coin on its way.
Mai 1961: During a speech given before a joint session of Congress on May 25th. President J. F. Kennedy expressed the goal to reach the moon by end of the 1960s. This was the start of the Apollo project. July 24th, 9:50 UTC: The 3 astronauts reurned to mother Earth. The splashdown point was in the Pacific Ocean. On July 24th 2009 we had the 40th anniversary of this event. A sufficient cause for this third special Geocoin.
