This coin would like to travel as far as possible and to visit caches in interesting places. Since students at the academy will be watching the coin's travels, photos are welcome.
This geocoin is custom made for students and teachers participating in the Shewey Science Academy in Mingo County, West Virginia. The Shewey Science Academy is made possible through the generous gift of Mr. C. Fred Shewey and the late Christine Shewey. At this academy, middle school students explore science and mathematics in an active way and apply their knowledge to problem solving and critical thinking.
This coin has the logo from the Shewey Science Academy on one side and the logo of Marshall University's Harless Center on the other.
A hole has been drilled in the coin to reduce the collectable value of the coin which may help to keep it in circulation.
