Gripen´s Mayan Astronaut

Nejznámější zobrazení mayského kněze a vládce jménem Lord Pakal Ahau objevené na náhrobní desce v pyramidě v Palenque v Mexiku. Podle Dänikena jde o dávného astronauta, který sedí v kokpitu nějakého stroje, snad letadla, rakety či miniponorky, v ruce drží páku a šlape na pedál. Postava upřeně hledí do plochy, kterou má těsně před obličejem a kde by mohla něco vidět jen pomocí obrazovky či periskopu. Příď stroje více než nápadně připomíná ústí turbínového nebo náporového motoru moderních nadzvukových letounů, zatímco na zádi je znázorněno cosi velmi podobného tryskám.
