Victorian Bushfires - January/February 2009 In early 2009, bushfires devastated Victoria, causing unprecedented loss of life and property. The Victorian Coroner’s Office has confirmed that 173 people lost their lives during the fires, which directly impacted 51 townships, destroying over 2,000 homes, along with many businesses, schools and kindergartens. The Victorian Bushfires have prompted an outpouring of community spirit across Australia and overseas. Many people are offering support to the hundreds of families who have been affected by the worst bushfire disaster in Australia’s history. A number of avenues exist for individuals and organisations to provide donations or suggestions in support of people affected by the Victorian Bushfires This is my way of supporting the 2009 Victorian Bushfire Appeal
