About This Item

This cute little whale was born in Nevada and although he has a tail, he worries that he will never have a tale to tell if he stays in the desert with us. We have taken him to Lake Mead and Lake Mojave, but he wants to travel the world. Since he is a native Nevadan, he isn’t just interested in traveling to ocean destinations. He would love to visit all types of areas around the world before he eventually returns home to one of our caches to retire and tell his tale. He is quite photogenic and really enjoys having his picture taken, so please feel free to photograph him any time the opportunity presents itself and post your pictures. We will miss him and so we have included a $1 WheresGeorge bill so he will always have a little cash with him. Please enter the serial number and series of Tale ‘O The Whale’s bill at www.wheresgeorge.com and let us know where you found him and how he is doing!

The whale decided to go south to spend some time in the beautiful rhine valley in Germany. Luckily he is small, otherwise he would make it into the newspaper straight away because whales are very uncommon in this region...

Our "Tail O' the Whale" TB was virtually dropped here because he was suspected as missing...He is alive and well in the "Vom Winde verweht" cache at waypoint GCH2DT near Oldenberg, Germany...we will need to subtract the 11,798 miles from his travels somehow. Many thanks to Freeley and also to Andy of Wolves Team...!

We found the zip-bag with the $1 WheresGeorge bill one day after the Wolves Team at "Ermita San Salvador" on Mallorca. I've written a mail to this geocacher to let him know, that he had left the bag and the dollar-bill in the cache and I ask him for his adress to send him the "rest" of the Travel Bug. I'm sorry, but he didn't answer in the last two month. Hopefully, George is still alive ...

  • The second half of the TB The 1$-bill and the bag are still O. K.

Very nice location and a nice Travel Bug.
We will take it to Germany, near the north sea.

We hope our decision was good. The island of Mallorca is not located in an ocean, but at the mediterean sea. A whale is a whale and maybe Tale O loves it too. To give him a good overview, we left him on a very nice and high location.
