Current Goal

PLEASE KEEP THIS GEOCOIN MOVING!! It wants to travel the world so that as many geocachers as possible can collect its icon. If it gets to visit Colorado some day, that would be great, but it is in no hurry, and it doesn't have to stay there, either. If you can post a photo of it on its travels, that would be great! And Discoveries are always welcome :-)

About This Item

The coin

The Rocky Mountain Columbine (Aquilegia caerulea) is the official State Flower of Colorado. Zebulon Pike's expedition of 1806 is the first recorded sighting of Pikes Peak by non-natives. In 1820, Edwin James, the botanist on the Long Expedition, reached the top of the peak, and wrote the first botanical description of the flower, which he saw growing on the slopes.

I just dipped your coin in the previous cache as all the caches I've been to lately are too small to hold anything, I will keep dipping it until I get a cache big enough to hold it. Hope this is OK.

Love this wee coin. We are lucky enough to have been to the top of Pikes Peak a few years ago, what a place, we rode up in the train and the driver was originally from Scotland, would you believe that? It was so very cold at the top, we didn't spend too long hanging around, I think we went into the cafe and had a hot drink then got the next train back down. The place we picked up your coin was really nice, it had a long swing bridge over the river. We climbed up the hill and came across this wonderful statue of William Wallace. We'll place your coin somewhere equally nice soon.

Perfect! I picked up this pretty little bug hoping it would want to come overseas with me. And it said it did.

Before heading Back East on a two-week vacation, we are putting a bunch of new geocoins and TBs, as well as four geocoins that our friend Webfoot asked us to take along on the trip, into an archived cache of ours that was just on the other side of our back wall, to get them started...
