After a little trip through Bautzen, we decided to place theTB here.
Bautzen is a city with a long tradition of beer browning. Since the Middle Ages brewing was one of the most lucrative sources for the income of the citizens.
Emperor Karl IV granted the right to brew beer in Bautzen 1374 and scored the protection of the beer before foreign competitors.
The law said that within a mile, about 7.5 km around the city, it was not allowed to brew and serve foreign beer.
Today we have two brewerys in Bautzen - the in our region well-known Bautzener Brauerei GmbH with a special beer which is called "Kupfer" and the little brewery Spree-Pension Frenzel GbR who
only brewed for her own restaurant. If you want to know more about this two brewerys you can ask google after the company names and you will find more interesting facts about it.
Good luck for your further trip little bear.
