About This Item

DSC_0131%20copy

When our crew first began caching we attempted to find the "Welter Cemetery cache", and we were unsuccessful that first time. That first attempt did create two desires in us, first the overwhelming desire to find the welters cache, but secondly a desire for any and all cemetery caches. So it was our promise to create a travel bug that would go from cemetery to cemetery, one that we could follow- physically and vitually. We would place it at the start of our haunting, on the day that we finally succeeded in finding the welters cache. It took us three more attempts but we did it (whoo-hoo!) and so now we have set the bug free to lead us to many more interesting cemetery caches.

Very cool trackable. And I found it on the day before Halloween. Will place it in the next cemetery cache that I find that isn't a micro.

Left the bug in a brand new cemetery cache, next to a little white country church. It is a very small cemetery, and also quite old: no burials since the 1920's according to the groundskeeper.

I took "a Welters Haunting" to the Pleasant Valley Cemetery intending to drop it off, but the cache was too small. Most cemetery caches are micros, and we apologize for holding it so long.

  • Mother and son headstones These are the oldest stones in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.I thought it was a husband & wife, but see that it is a mother who died soon after her son. Very sad. This was frontier then.

This is one of the coolest travelbugs we've come across. We found it in the Unity Chapel grounds, within sight of Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin home, one of the coolest cemeteries we've visited Many of Wright's family members are buried here. We love cemetery caches and look forward to finding a good one to hide this in.
We uploaded a picture of a view from Taliesin towards the Unity Chapel, a small brown building near center top of the scene.

  • Taliesin view, Unity chapel
  • Mamah's grave The resting place of "Mamah" Cheney, Frank Llloyd Wright's lover, who with her children was horribly murdered by a disgruntled workman at Taliesin.
