This Travel Gopher comes from Crooked River State Park, St. Mary’s GA 912-882-5256

In the southeast corner of the state on Georgia’s coast, Crooked River features a nature trail through a maritime forest and salt marsh. Abundant with wildlife, visitors may spot gopher tortoises, fiddler crabs, heron and other water fowl. This spot is great for boating and kayaking and is one of the stops in the Park Paddlers Club challenge. Other activities to enjoy are salt water fishing and a Colonial Coastal Birding Trail. There is a lot to see around the area, too. Take a side trip to Cumberland Island National Seashore. Visit Stephen C. Foster State Park in the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. Play a round at the Lakes Golf Course at Laura S. Walker State Park.
