Tisha Chicken Re-Hatched

My lifelong dream is to visit a far away town called Chicken, Alaska. Chicken is really small and very difficult to get to, but I have seen other caches as close as 10 miles away from downtown Chicken. Chicken is located at 64°4'15" N 141°52'30" W. The original Tisha Chicken travel bug was launched in September 2009. However, about 40 miles into her journey, someone reported that the rubber chicken had been removed from the tag and was replaced with a laminated picture of a chicken. I went back to the original launching cache and surprisingly found the rubber chicken! It has now been re-launched into the wild with the same destination as the original Tisha travel bug. Let's see who gets there first! Another interesting fact about this new Tisha Chicken - she was launched into the wild on the 10th anniversary of geocaching.

Some additional information about Chicken, Alaska: As of the last census, there were only 17 people, 6 households, and 4 families residing in Chicken. The only transportation to Chicken is a small local airstrip, as well as Alaska Route 5, the Taylor Highway. The highway is not maintained from mid-October through mid-March. There is a United States Post Office for Chicken but there is no local telephone exchange service. My name, Tisha Chicken was taken from a book written by Anne Hobbs Purdy, a former inhabitant of Chicken. "Tisha" is a story about the Alaskan wilderness and the difficulties of a close-set community, prejudices against natives, and the hard winter.
