These grommets are very special to our troop. After an American Flag has served his country, he is to be retired. After the ceremony and all the ashes are "cold out" (usually the next day) you can retreive the grommets. Some times they are given to people for special occasions. The flag grommets are a form of good luck. These grommets are out to travel the world and teach others about the proper way to retire an American Flag.
