The Enterprise wants to visit sites that are important to the United States' mission to space. As the Enterprise travels around the country it should visit and be photographed at the following sites: The National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. (take the photo by the Museum's Enterprise display); Kennedy Space Center Visitors' Complex, Cape Canaveral, FL; Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center, Houston, TX; and Edwards Air Force Base, Edwards, CA. Photos from these visits should be uploaded to geocaching.com. Upon completion of its mission, the Enterprise should return to its home port near Eau Claire, WI.
The USS Enterprise, NCC-1701, is a starship in the Star Trek media franchise. The original Star Trek series (09/1966 – 09/1969) depicts its crew's mission "to explore strange new worlds; to seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where no man has gone before" under the command of Captain James T. Kirk. The ship's basic design "formed the basis for one of sci-fi's most iconic images". A refit version of the ship appears in the first three Star Trek films. The 2009 Star Trek film, which takes place in an "alternate, parallel" timeline, includes a redesigned “hot-rod” version of the Enterprise.
