You have arrived at the North Lakeland TB Hotel nestled among the shady oak trees adjacent to Old Polk City Road located in a region known as Gibsonia northeast of Lakeland, FL. This is a quiet residential “bedroom” community in unincorporated Polk County, Florida. Usual small urban amenities are close but yet far enough away to facilitate the “Geo-traveler’s” tranquil stay. No guest parking here… but convenient curbside check in/out is available and preferred. Interstate-4 access is usually exits 33 or 38.

06:10 EST – Good morning and welcome to Orange County, Florida and the United States! 😎 You have boarded the Interstate-4 (I-4) TB Commuter/Hotel & Airport Shuttle on its westbound run. I am a local resident that work commutes along I-4 about 66-miles one-way during the workweek. You can anticipate being checked in at one of the many “Geo-Traveler” lodging facilities (IE: TB hotel, resort, lodge or bed & breakfast) or a cache that fits your mission/goal/personality along the aforementioned route. If not, I may transfer you to one of my Geo-associates. Until then, I'll do my best to assist with any specific mission/goal. When time permits (real life 😉) I endeavor to post photos with a title & some text to each passenger’s web log. This little extra provides related trivia of your travels while you are with me. So if you notice a thumbnail picture in the log entry… don’t forget to click on either the “View… gallery images” or the “View Map” link above and then each of the photos for more info 😁.

I'll keep a look out for westbound US cachers... However, I'll probably end up check you in at the airport TB hotel and tag for west coast movement.

    • Riding the I-4 TB Commuter/shuttle Thank you, Geo-trackable owner, for activating your actual or virtual/proxy Travel Bug, Geocoin and/or tag; thus entrusting fellow Geocachers with their movement. I can only hope that my efforts with yours bring as much pleasure to you as it has me.
    • Visiting Florida! Did you know… Florida has the most coastline of any of the contiguous states & the lowest highpoint of any of the states. 663-miles of beaches. In 1565, Spain created the first permanent settlement in St. Augustine. Became the 27th US state in 1845.
    • A Florida art souvenir Between the famously sunny climate, tremendous coastline, world’s largest cruise ship port, and a variety of amusement parks, it is no wonder that tourism is the largest part of the "Sunshine State’s" economy. Alligator is the official state reptile.
    • Traveling in the United States A federal constitutional republic comprised of 50-states, several territorial possessions, and a federal capital district. The country is situated mostly in central North America between the Atlantic & Pacific Oceans, bordered by Canada and Mexico.

Just south of downtown Orlando and east of Interstate-4 it is close to the entire Orlando area tourist type attractions and entertainment… yet far enough away. An Orange County TB hotel that offers guests amenities for an “extended stay.” 😉 Your basic needs are available along the adjacent John Young Parkway (aka County Road 423). John Young, a former Navy fighter pilot, grew up in Orlando. As an astronaut, he accumulated over 34-days in space on Gemini, Apollo and Space Shuttle missions. Long distance travelers to/from the UK are known to pass through here.

    • Lodging in Orange County, Florida USA Established in 1824 as Mosquito County & took up much of Central Florida. In 1845 renamed Orange County for the fruit that constituted it’s main product, & most of the area created new counties. Nowadays citrus has been replaced by land development.
