June 5, 2013: Teddy is finally back in the USA after having been in Europe since May 2, 2011. Teddy now has over 50,000 miles on him and this is the original travel bug!!
Since March, 2010, Teddy has visited:
Italy, Sweden, Liechtenstein, Slovakia, Croatia, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Greece, Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Slovenia, Germany, England, Egypt, Belgium, France, Netherlands.
U.S. States: California, Nevada, Illinois, Florida, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, Wyoming, Missouri, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Oklahoma and Georgia: not in that order, of course.
Of all my TB's , Teddy has traveled the farthest. Thanks to all of the responsible cachers who have picked up this bug and helped it along in it's journey.
A little history about Teddy: Teddy was a peekapoo who was with us for 16+ years. He was born September 13, 1991. His favorite activities in life were:
chasing cats and squirrels in the back yard (he never caught a single one, thank goodness!),
going for walks around the neighborhood
having his tummy and back rubbed (don't we all??)
curling up in anyone's lap and going to sleep
looking for food I dropped on the kitchen floor while fixing dinner
just making our family happy to have him as a pet and member of our family
Teddy died peacefully as a result of kidney failure due to old age on 2-29-08 (yes, leap year)
Since we have two daughters, I always jokingly called Teddy the "son I never had." Teddy, in his younger years, loved to escape from our fenced-in back yard if the gate was accidentally left open. We hope this travel bug will pick up Teddy's wandering spirit and go from place to place, giving everyone who sees his picture a big smile!!
We have a cache in Teddy's honor in Snellville, Ga., named "Teddy's Cache."
Note from Teddy: I'd rather not be put in a puzzle cache or a multi-cache since not as many people visit those, and I'd probably end up staying there for a long time. Also, please don't put me in a cache with a difficulty or terrain rating of more than 2.5. Thanks.
