We'd like this Alabama geocoin to visit all 50 states in the USA. It's a lofty goal, but it's possible if the coin is kept moving and continuously placed in very active caches. Please keep this coin in your hands for a short time, and place it quickly in another active cache. If you can, upload pictures of yourself with the Heart of Dixie coin when you log your coin discovery or drop. Be careful, be safe and enjoy caching!

We are sending this coin out in the name of Mark & Mary Harris of Decatur, Alabama who loved each other and their family. Your grandchildren will miss you and love you always. Until we meet again.

Alabama "Heart of Dixie" Geocoin

This fabulous coin was a gift from one of our Alabama-native cousins. We moved to California in the late 1970s, while his family remained in the south -- and we both found geocaching independently! When we discovered our mutual caching interest, we sent him a few trackable California wooden nickels and he sent us the Alabama Heart of Dixie geocoin you now have in your possession! This is our first owned trackable item on geocaching.com, (and dedicated to someone very special) so please take good care of it. On a side note, the website featured on the coin www.alacache.com has unfortunately been discontinued, replaced by www.DixieCachers.com.
