I'm one of the pieces of eight what once belonged to the Emperor of Mexico.
Charles IV reigned over Spain and its colonies 1788-1808
The coin is of homeland Spain origin featuring King Carlos IV (1788-1808)
The obverse features a bust of King Charles IV of Spain encircled by the Latin legend CAROL-IIII-D-G-HISP-ET-IND-R. (Charles IV, By Grace of God, King of Spain and the Indies) and the date 1797 at the bottom. The reverse has the royal arms encircled by the Latin legend FELIX-A-D-UTROQUE, with the mintmark P (for the Popayan mint) and the assayers' initials JF (Francisco Fernández de las Cajigas) at the bottom.

carlos was found at gator creek park north of lakeland fla. I'm a neeby at this and so for I'm loving it.

I'm a newby at geocache and now I'm hooked. Went to Gator Creek and visited 6 diffrent sites.Stumped got us. Spent 20 mins. on a deadline had to go. Showed Carlos to a friend and we decided to make the tin a mini cache itself and added a few things. I pick out a shell and piece of coral I found at the beach. My friend added 3 coins from outside the USA. I plan to find a cache on or near the beach to place the tin containing Carlos and our contrubutions. I hope the next person that finds the tin takes something they like and leaves something of themselves behind. When I stash Carlos I'll log on and leave a clue or two.
