Printable information sheet to attach to Dolphin Emmzz from Gimån to Queensland Australia
Print Info Sheet |
|
The owner hasn't set their collectible preference.
This dolphin wants to go from the running water of Gimån in northern Sweden to visit fellow dolphins near Seaworld in Queensland Australia. It's sister " Dolphin Emmzz - from Froesoen to Florida" (http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=1722910 ) went west so this one will go east. Or around the world! We are happy for some pics too.

It absolutely poured in Helsinki today. OMG. I even had to buy an umbrella. Found a few more Geopoly caches and then it was off to the airport. Goodbye and thanks to my Finnish family. On the train to the airport, Geodaughter sent a message saying that there was technical glitch and the UK had shut their airspace. Hundreds of flights delayed or cancelled. The rest of the London cachers were already delayed for their direct flight but had left the European Union area so I couldn’t even had a beer with them while they waited. 🛩️

These Geopoly caches in Helsinki are fantastic. You actually have to play a game to get the next coordinates (….if you play without cheating, which I am….). You’ve had to criss cross Helsinki with me but the caches themselves are top quality, the public transport here is excellent, and the city itself is not very big. 🎲

Yay - made it to UrbanHEL, the Helsinki MEGA. Signed the street art log wall, played with the trackables, did some labs, found some caches, caught up with geocaching friends, met other geocachers, and bought some coins - all the usual things. Then my time was up because I’m balancing geocaching with seeing my ‘brother’ Mikko and we had dinner reservations at a Michelin restaurant. You can only imagine how frighteningly expensive that was in Helsinki. 💸

Webcam time. Got to grab them where you can. Met up with the GIM crew and Simo from Finland. Found a few caches in this area and then Simo and I broke away to go to the Mega while the others continued their icon run. 📹

You met up with the other London cachers and travelled out to Sun Gear, Finland’s oldest geocache. It was in a lovely forested area but the mosquitoes were plentiful. From there, we worked our way back towards Helsinki adding more cachers to our group as we went. Super fun day. 🦟

Tervetuloa Suomeen. Välkommen till Finland. Welcome to Finland.
You boarded the ferry, The Tallink Megastar, and arrived in Helsinki, Finland. It’s good to be back. This is a bit of a home away from home for me because my family had a Finnish boy live with us for a year and we are still great friends. Coincidentally bumped into my Belguim geofriend at a cache. Everyone is here for the MEGA. 🇫🇮

You spent the day caching around Estonia with Rodent Droppings, my friend from Australia. He seemed very happy for any excuse to get away from his wife for the day and seems to have embraced geocaching. Not loving his name though. This was a great cache, the icon was on the electronic map of the shopping mall. How did the CO manage to do that? Stopped at a brewery for lunch. A bit of advice - avoid spruce and fig flavoured beer. 🐀

A palace visit for you today. Kadriorg Palace was built by Peter the Great of Russia for his wife, the future Catherine I of Russia. It’s very pretty. Friends from Australia are coincidentally passing through Tallinn for the next two days so I finished the day with a walk along the Baltic and then catch up dinner. 🍽️

I was last in Tallinn 22 years ago and it has changed a lot. Lots more tourists and noisy bars and karaoke now. It’s still lovely in the day. Had a walk around the old town and enjoyed the view from the top. I also visited the spot where the Danish flag was ‘born’. In 1291, the Danish king Valdemar Sejr (Valdemar the Victorious) led his army on a crusade to Estonia. During a battle, the Danes were on the defensive when suddenly a red banner with a white cross fell from the heavens. Luck changed, the Danish army won, and Denmark got its flag. 🛡️

Tere tulemast Eestisse! Welcome to Estonia. My tour guide wanted to know of any of us had anywhere we would like to see. One of the stops was in Viljandi, the Estonian town to be the centre of culture. It’s a very pretty place of lakes and hill and forests and castle ruins. So she was a bit surprised when I asked if we could go to a grim car park in town. Estonia’s only webcam! 🇪🇪
