The number 100 is kind of special. Beside the facts referred is ou beloved Wikipedia, the number 100 is used in Portugal sometimes in other ways, like a pun between the number 100 (cem in Portuguese) and the word without (sem in Portuguese). For example in Portuguese you can say “I can’t live without geocaching” and using the number 100 the statement would be “I can’t live 100 geocaching”. For example:

- Eu não vivo 100 geocaching;

- Aquele bacano havia de ficar 100 travões;

- Acho que é de Homem ir procurar caches 100 coordenadas;

You get the idea, altough for me it's quite strange when people do that since the number of characters is the same, I don't get it. What i do get is when people use the number, like:

- I really would like to live up to 100 years;

- I haven’t come to this tavern for 100 years and I haven’t eat rinds like these for another 100;

- The mystery of Princess Diana / WTC / Area51 / Others will keep unsolved for another 100 years;

- Manchester United / Arsenal / Chelsea won’t be champions for another 100 years;

- My goddammn bike don't go over 100 kph;
