Current Goal

1/19/05 update: Atomic Power used to be a Tonka "matchbox type" truck that just wanted to drive around and act powerful wherever it could...with maximum mileage. As of this update, a recent finder discovered the Tonka truck missing from the tag chain, so now it's a traveling Whistle instead!

Please help keep it moving to locations yet to be discovered.

Well, this one seems to has been transported to Danville. We found the tag and chain only in the Danvill Trolls multicache. We will put it back in circulation soon.

Time to say goodbye to Atomic Power. He's in a great location, right near the Lawrence Livermore Lab ("LLNL") where they do nuclear power research.

Atomic Power is getting a short tour of the nuclear power facilities in the Bay Area. On the way to this cache, he passed by the now decommissioned Vallecitos Nuclear Power Plant, the first privately owned one in the U.S.

    • Atomic Power and the Vallecitos Nuclear Center The waypoint is for the actual entrance. I took this photo from the street before the main entrance.
    • Closer View of the Vallecitos Reactors I took this photo from the shoulder on Highway 84. General Electric now owns this facility, and they are waiting for further radioactive decay before complete dismantling.

I'll move it to another cache in California, but I might take it close to a working or abandoned nuclear power plant!
