Current Goal

Most of the geocoins I have in circulation now are tributes, I love the idea of trackable items and the stories that come with them.  Unfortunately I had some bad luck with coins disappearing.  I’ve held on to my favorite coins for a while, but it seemed wrong that they couldn’t get out on their own.  The goal for this bug is to visit caches with creative hides.  I started in one of my favorite types of hides.  I don’t want to give it away, but I was sure it would stay ‘high and dry’.  I love finding caches that are creatively hidden, or novel to find.  The larger the better!  It’s easy to hide something the size of a dime somewhere that is impossible to find, the real trick is finding interesting places to put the big stuff.  No offense to those who like the challenge, but this needs at least a golf ball size cache to hang out in.   

About This Item

I got the original coin on my 26th birthday. It's a neat coin, very shiny! One one side it shows a mountain covered landscape, and on the other side an eagle is carrying away an ammo can. The whole thing is relatively heavy and large for a geocoin, more like a silver dollar. It appears to be gold plated, and it is quite impressive to see. This trackable is now a trilobite; a resin replica of the fossilized remains of an ancient critter that once lived in the ocean.  This is the only item (other than the original coin) that holds this number, so the mileage is accurate.  The original is still in my private collection and I do show it off at events.
