Current Goal

Promote aviation by having the "Spirit of St Louis" visit airports around the world. Extra credit for taking him from New York to Paris!

About This Item

More commonly known as the "Spirit of St Louis", the Ryan NY-P was flown by Charles Lindbergh from New York to Paris (hence the "NY-P".) Although not the first aircraft to cross the Atlantic, the 33 hour flight in 1927 was the first flight between major cities. Lindbergh not only won a $25,000 prize for his flight, but proved that trans-atlantic flight was possible, and opened commercial aviation to air routes between America and Europe.

Grabbing this from MarlinSpikette.. Thanks for logging the find for me. I have a great plans for this TB. But, first I have to do a little repair. Seems the tail-feathers are broken and I must put them back in shape. Then she will be flight worthy. 🙂

    • Poor Girl without any tail feathers.
