Dutch Rider Geocoin

A rider (rijder) was the name of an old Dutch currency. It was made in silver or gold. It was named after the horseman on the coin (rider, of in dutch: rijder).

Design

The geocoin is round shaped and has a size of 1.75″ (approx. 44 mm). The Dutch Rider Geocoin is designed after a 1754 Dutch coin called the Rijder (Rider), a monetary coin that was made in silver or in gold. The front of the coin is an exact copy of the 1754 Dutch coin called the "Rijder". The image of the horseman was already used in the century before. The latin motto ‘Mo No Arg Con Foe Belg Pro Hol’ on the front means: New Silver Coin of the Belgium Federation (a.k.a. Republic of the Seven Provinces), province of Holland.
The 3D lion image on the back was also used on several Dutch coins and often came with the same motto. The motto ‘Concordia Res Parvae Crescunt’ on the back means: The little ones grow through unity.

Diese tolle Sammlung von Geo-Dragonchild durften wir als Dutch Geocoin Ausstellung auf dem Geocoinfest 2015 in Eindhoven bewundern. Vielen Dank fürs Zeigen und die Logfreigabe und ganz viel Spaß noch beim Sammeln und Suchen sagt das Team Serfaus aus Köln!

Tijdens het GeoCoinFest weekend heb ik een hele hoop gedaan, waardoor ik niet altijd voldoende tijd had om uitgebreid alles te bekijken. Ik heb echter wel van het gehele weekend erg genoten en tussen de bedrijven door met een aantal mensen gezellig kunnen kletsen 😎 En ik heb ook nog heel even de tijd gehad om de fraaie collecties die boven opgesteld lagen te bewonderen. Daar zat ook de verzameling van Geo-Dragonchild bij. Ik ben blij dat hier toch nog even de tijd voor heb kunnen vinden. Het is namelijk toch wel bijzonder om zo veel fraaie coins bij elkaar te zien. Gelukkig heb ik niet alle codes zelf op hoeven te schrijven, maar kon ik wat hulp krijgen 😉 Geo-Dragonchild, bedankt voor het tonen van deze fraaie verzameling en de hulp bij het discoveren. Dieses wunderschöne Exemplar durften wir am Rande des MEGA-Event "Geocoinfest Europe 2015 Netherlands" discovern. Naja, eigentlich ist dieser Standardtext ja hier nicht so ganz richtig. Wir haben erst einmal in allen Vitrinen bewundert, wie umfangreich und vielfältig die einzelnen Sammlungen sein können und uns ein paar Kontaktdaten notiert. Wir waren zwar vor zwei Jahren in Prag schon mit dabei, hatten uns dort aber ein anderes Ziel gesetzt, nämlich 12 verschiedene Cachetypen an einem Tag zu schaffen. Daher waren wir dieses Mal umso glücklicher, dass wir uns ausgiebig den Schönheiten des heutigen Tages hingeben und nach Herzenslust discovern durften. Danke dafür und viel Erfolg auf Deiner weiteren Mission.
