About This Item

Travel Turtle has taken up a challenge by another Travel Bug called Abracadabra. Abracadabra is a rabbit in a hat… a magic hare of sorts. The challenge is a race, and the destination is Athens, Greece… once home to Aesop, the author of the ‘Tortoise and the Hare’ fable. There is no set route, and Travel Turtle loves to have his picture taken with all kinds of people and places of note. His only request: that you help him to progress in a slow and steady manner to his destination.

Took this bug home from the Pizza Event in Danville, California. We will add an information tag with the bug's name, current goal, owner's name, release date, place of origin and other important information about retrieving and placing travel bugs. It will be printed on waterproof paper, laminated, and an eyelet added for extra strength. This is Bug number 1162 we have seen, tagged, and moved. Thanks!

Since we couldn't really help this little guy on his travels, I dropped him off tonight at our local geocaching event. Joani (the cacher who took him) is going to give him a new tag with his mission, so other people who find him will know exactly where he wants to go! :)

We found this adorable little guy in "Here it is, Deer," in Monterey. A lovely surprise, as he's not listed as being there (and you'll surely be glad to hear that he's still alive and well). Can't help him all the way to his destination (although I wish I could - I'd love to visit Greece), but we'll take him a few local adventures with us, and then drop him off somewhere to find another friend who might be heading in the right direction. I expect we'll have some photos to post, too. He really is awfully cute. :)
