BSA Race to 2010 -IWC -Troop91BSA SC – Dea Katrell’s Ride#2

Help the Scouts from BSA Troop 91 in Columbia, South Carolina (USA) move this Pinewood Derby Travel Bug® across the nation and into as many Scout and non-Scout hands as possible. This is the first ever nationwide Pinewood Derby race, and we want to cross the finish line! We are competing for prizes awarded for cars that travel the farthest, pass through the most hands, and have the most creative route, etc. Help us speed along by moving this Travel Bug. BSA Troop 91 has provided hundreds of youth from the Columbia SC area with a strong foundation of leadership, service, and community for over 60 years! We have been to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, Florida Sea Base in the Keys, and Northern Tier High Adventure base in the wilds of Minnesota. Plus we help out in numerous ways in our community by raising money and collecting goods for charities such as the Red Cross, 9/11 survivors, Katrina evacuees, Tsunami and Earthquake victims, local food pantries, and much more. We also pride ourselves in our support for our US Service personnel as they protect our country by service far from home. We are chartered by Seven Oaks Presbyterian Church in the NW region of Columbia South Carolina USA, not far from Lake Murray dam. Note: This car represents the original Pinewood Derby car that was made by Troop 91 Eagle Scout Chris "Dea Katrell" Hilbish (T91 Eagle Scout 2005) while he was still in Cub Scouts. A Hotwheels car of similar shape and design has been substituted so that it could be taken to Europe and not take up much space in the duffel bag. (Car #1 was deployed and is MIA)
