Current Goal

To race its companions TB's (HDS racers 2, 3 and 4) around the world and see which one gets back to Cornwall first.

There are four Houses at Humphry Davy School, Penzance, Cornwall and this Racer represents Godolphin House.  

Any photos of the area around the caches that this TB visits would be appreciated, to allow the students who sent these on their way to learn more about the areas in which they end up.

Godolphin House

 

Godolphin is a 15th century house, now a National Trust property, on the outskirts of Helston.  It was the home of the Godolphin family until the middle of the 18th century. Today's structure is only part of what was once a very extensive granite-built Tudor and Stuart house. The Godolphins made their fortune from the local tin-mining industry, becoming one of the leading families of West Cornwall.

 

Sir William Godolphin was a soldier in the service of Henry VIII  and his son Sir Francis Godolphin became the Governor of the Scilly Isles

 

William Godolphin's grandson, Sidney, was appointed to the post of Lord Treasurer to Queen Ann between 1702 - 10, with responsibility for financing the Duke of Marlborough's wars. He was later created Earl of Godolphin and his son married Marlborough's daughter.

Auf einem Event, einem MEGA Event (oder GIGA;)), bei einem Cacher, auf einem T-Shirt, an einem Hund, auf der Mütze, hinter der Scheibe, auf der Kofferraumklappe, in einem QR Code, auf einer Liste, oder sonst irgendwo...

Unfortunately, this TB is not in the Where's That Playground? cache (GC3BM77). I found the cache today, and checked it all over, inside and out, and even in the immediate (well forested) area. 😟
