About This Item

The first South African cache named GCZA01 (GC163) was placed on 14 January 2001 and was situated in the vicinity of the Hartebeestpoort dam in the greater Pretoria area.

It contained the following:
2 Blank CD-R discs
1 Tom Clancy Novel
1 Navision Software Wristwatch
1 Notebook & Pen
1 Greeting Letter

That Navision Software Wristwatch has been in my swag bag for almost ten years, and was converted into this travelbug.

Brilliant to see this piece of South African history - the equivalent of the Original Can of Baked Beans - in person.

Funny how something quite "normal" can take on a value in the right context. Just shows we all have the potent9ial to be something very special.

Thanks for sharing, and more importantly, thank you for preserving this and continuing to provide input into this fun activity of geocaching.
