Current Goal

My Mission is to travel the world visiting as many places as I can before returning . Since I am a drum corps fan and this button was part of a Madison Scout uniform for the past couple of years. I would like to see how many drum corps fans are geocaching. You don’t have to be a fan to move me along, but if you were with a corps please say which one and when you were with them. As for me I was with Chicago Vanguard 90 -92, Kilties, 93-95 & 99, Chicago Royal Aires 2004.

Please Log in where you find me and where you drop me off so I can log my miles!

About This Item

Travel Bug

An antiqued button off a uniform with the Madison Scouts Fleur-de-lis which they are known for. I saw these at a local competition and thought would make a great TB.

For over 70 years the Madison Scouts has developed and shaped young men’s lives through musical enrichment and performance arts. Values such as honesty, integrity and accountability are taught and practiced through the activity that is modern day drum & bugle corps. A commitment to personal excellence and altruism serves as the foundation for the ultimate goal of teaching our members important life changing skills that will guide them now and in the future.

The Madison Scouts were founded in 1938 and are the third oldest drum corps in the activity. The corps is one of two remaining all-male groups and was originally founded as a Boy Scout troop. The Scouts are now an active Venturing troop (Venture Crew 600) of the Boy Scouts of America and are registered with the Glacier’s Edge Council (formerly Four Lakes Council) in Madison, Wisconsin.

The Scouts enter their 74th season of continuous operations and are one of the most recognized drum corps throughout the world having been a DCI Finalist 35 times in the past 38 years. They are twice DCI World Champions having won in 1975 and 1988. The corps logo is the Fleur-de-lis and the corps song is “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.  For more  F

Grabbed this from Aesop's Villa by the Sea. We aren't in the drum corps, but we are Venturing scouts, so it seemed appropriate that we would help move this on. Great concept!
