Current Goal

My goal: I'd like to visit the Egyptian Collection at the Nicholson Museum in Sydney, Australia. I'd also like to visit any other Egyptian artefacts on display in Australia.

I am part of a series of Egyptian amulet Travel Bugs released by the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum in Coventry, England. Amulets were small charms which some people believed had magical or protective properties.

Please help me reach my goal and tell me about your adventures along the way. (It would be great if you could also take lots of pictures!)

I've got a lot of travelling to do in a short amount of time – I hope to come back to the Herbert by February 2011! If I return, I'll be going on display to complement our Secret Egypt exhibition. I'll be accompanied by my online journal and the photographs taken of me during my travels.

I hope to inspire visitors to explore their communities and to inform them about the influence of Egypt both in Britain and abroad.

It's a big task for a little Travel Bug, but I hope you'll help me!

Dropped in The Ampitheatre today; which is a suitably historic venue. The Ampitheatre is next to the Yarra River, near the historic Fairfield Boatshed (in Fairfield, Melbourne).

Back here at SYD, just arriving from the <a href=http://hipssa.org/smec2011>SMEC 2011</a> scientific meeting on cruise through the Caribbean Sea on the <i><a href=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_Liberty_of_the_Seas>Liberty of the Seas</a></i>.
