The goal of this TB is to visit as many Fire Stations between the West Coast and the World Trade Center Site (aka the Twin Towers). Get photographed in front of Stations, Engines, Trucks (ladder companies), or antique/restored Pumpers. Upload photos under the bugs page, then after reaching Ground Zero and getting a photo on location, place the TB at Geocache "GC1R67Y" (just a few blocks away from it's goal) before heading back home to Sunny California.
Upon completion, e-mail me for final instructions for return home.
9/11 had a wide range of effects on the American citizens. For me, it hurt deeply and the pain still hasn't fully left me. At the time of the terror atacks on the United States in 2001, I was a recent graduate of the Butte College Fire Academy in Chico, Ca. We were the 32nd class and the first of the new Millenium, and we were all so ambitious to get out and make a difference. Just a year and a half later, history was made, and the pain was deep, especially for me. There was nothing keeping me from heading out that minute to help with the rescue efforts, except I was recently wed (less then 3 months prior) and could not just walk away from my job at the time. I think just having to watch all that was taking place in front of our eyes and not being able to do anything was killing me the most. Since then, I always had a goal of seeing "Ground Zero" first hand, but as children come and the economy plunges into the toilet, it once again doesn't make sense to go......still. So hopefully I will make it there in spirit and through the help of my nationwide fellow geocachers, I will be able to do it in style (at least until I can make it there in person). Please help make this come true for me. All the help provided is greatly appreciated. Go U.S.A.! and please remember to keep our troops in your prayers.
