About This Item

Named for Harry Potter's snowy owl, this little silver fellow with ruby eyes was once a charm on a bracelet of someone we all loved dearly. It makes us happy to think that it's now traveling around the world and seeing all sorts of sights.

After Geocaching for about a year this was our first time moving a travel bug. We happened upon the cache only hours before it was disabled. We took Hedwig home with us for the night where it watched Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone with us. The next day we took it back to Hammonasset and dropped it off in another cache with a nice view of the ocean.

Dropped off the little owl on a beautiful, sunny, late winter day in Hammonasset Beach State Park in CT. We are sorry to see that between us dropping it off yesterday and posting the log this morning, the CT Reviewer has disabled the cache!! We have never seen anything like this happen before. We, and 3 other geocachers, successfully logged that cache yesterday, and while the log is a bit damp, the cache itself is in pristine condition and seemed like a great large micro to host this little TB. Hopefully someone will see the log there and grab Hedwig soon.

We enjoyed carrying this sweet little charm around, and hope it gets to take many more adventures soon.

Thanks for the story on this TB. We are happy to take it along with us! Grabbed from a nice cache in the woods in Rhode Island near Providence, on a weekend getaway. The eyes aren't ruby anymore, FYI, but I can see the slightest flecks of red where they once were. Looks like it hasn't been to CT yet, we'll take it home with us there and try to get it dropped of soon.

Discovered a fe trackable bugs and coins through out my travels this past couple of months, from a 12/12/12 event, to a few caches, and finally from a personal collection of beginning bugs , all were good to go, may their journey be a long a fun one too!
