"Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd;
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack, (and a hotdog),
I don't care if I never get back.
Let me root, root, root for the home team,
If they don't win, it's a shame.
For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out,
At the old ball game."
Any game of any kind, any time, any where from my beloved college baseball and basketball to U10 girls soccer or high school football, so long as there are noisy fans and good food!! Every season there is a sport happening, so take me with you!
If you could "cache" a favorite memory with a loved one, how many would include sporting events on hard bleachers with hotdogs and watery sodas under bright stadium lights? Stomping your feet on the floor of the gym cheering your hometown favorite sitting beside your dad or grandfather? This TravelBug was created in honor of my friend's dad, David Cooper who, back in his time was a pitcher for the University of South Carolina Gamecock's college baseball team. After graduating and raising a family, his love of USC and athletics spread to his daughter Cathy and together they shared more than hotdogs while cheering their hometown team. She lost him recently but this little TB will keep his favorite pasttimes going from field to coliseum, team to team, hand to hand. I hope his journeys will bring many smiles and joyful memories to her as she watches his travels, keeping a small part of her dad always out there, somewhere, doing what he loved-- cheering and sitting in the stands, watching a lot of great games! Everyone is invited to share their favorite memories as well and please give us details of the games so we can enjoy the play by play too, and pictures are welcome!
