I don't think I have ever had such a difficult time retrieving a coin but this one presented quite a challenge. It was easy enough grabbing the coin from the cache but then a dozen birds swooped in and in my haste to cover up the coin flew out of my hand and rolled down the hill towards the river. Just as it rolled off the edge and headed for the water, a chinook salmon lept up to swallow it whole and disappeared. We tried to catch it but it was moving up stream too quickly for us so we jumped in the jeep and drove 10 miles to a point where we had to hike into the woods to try and head the rogue fish off. As we approached the river, we spotted a black bear in the water catching fish. A moment later we saw the chinook salmon leap from the river where the bear snatched it out of the air and swallowed the fish with the coin in one giant gulp.

The four of us pounced on the bear and a straight punch to the gut resulted in the coin being coughed up. It was quite an experience but we were glad that we were able to save the coin! Will move along soon.
