About This Item

So many paths to choose

The long road is a rainbow and the pot of gold lies at the end so slip the chain and I'm off again you will find me everywhere because I'm a rover. (Jethro Tull)

What an absolutely fantastic weekend and all thanks to the Burton's.
The organisers of this event deserve a TA DA. (With sounds of clapping and party poppers going off in the background.)
The convoy started early for us with Firesafe pulling up alongside us on the Friday afternoon as we headed through the Freeway in the Adelaide Hills.
Just like old time we fell in together and headed down the highway on another adventure.
We gave a rousing cheer as we passed through Talem Bend and the GPS counted down the metres to the original starting point and then we headed out towards the new staging point at Pinnaroo.
Yippee we had ticked off that last box to becoming a well rounded cacher and have now completed the 5x5 grid. There was certainly going to a celebration at the Shindig event.
Met up with a lot of cachers at Pinnaroo and we all had dinner at one of the local pubs. Some bored local kids asked if they could do some planking on the 4WD's and so the Geocachers had to show them how it was done.
Met at the BP in the morning and away we went. It was the largest convoy I have been in but it certainly made for some fun radio conversations. We were having a ball following the Border track and it was a great social experience. The Rav and the Suzi sure brought a lot of joy to the day.
The event that night was such great fun and we really enjoyed it.
Then in the morning Cachers scattered in different direction with a lot of us heading through Ngarkat Park.
Very early in the day we managed to spike a tyre on a piece of Mallee root but it wasn't a problem because being such wonderful event organisers as the Burton's are they had it all sorted in very quick time. With the help of Tigersden and Froghoppin it was like a pit stop in a car race and we were soon back on track. A good geocaching team effort.
We came out at the main road and then up to Pertendi Hut and Comet Bore. It was fun sitting behind Someuser watching all the sand falling out from under the car. We thought he got about a 2 inch lift after it had all fallen out.
Then down the black stuff to Bordertown before heading home.

I love that I have this area in my backyard.
Went for a walk up to the fire Tower.
