About This Item

THE NUBBLE LIGHT HOUSE IS LOCATED ON THE CAPE NEDDICK PENNISULA IN YORK, MAINE. IT WAS BUILD IN 1879 BY ORDER OF PRESIDENT RUTHERFORD B. HAYES. IT COST $15,000 TO BUILD AND IT'S TOWER STANDS 40 FEET HIGH. THE SIX ROOM VICTORIAN WAS BUILT IN THE SHAPE OF A CROSS. IN 1998, NUBBLE LIGHTHOUSE WAS TURNED OVER TO THE TOWN OF YORK. NUBBLE LIGHTHOUSE IS ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR LIGHTHOUSES TO VISIT IN MAINE.

Will move along soon. I'll have to leave it in Colorado, as it will be 2 months before we are back in Florida. Maybe someone can pick it up in Colorado so that the journey can continue to a coastal city.

It is now in the state with the most coast line the only problem is I don't remember seening any lighthouses here in my travels but I'll watch were it gets dropped and try to grab it later to move it south to see Homer Alaska home of some great coast lines! Thanks for sharing the TB

Never found a light house or a cache big enough in Hawaii to drop this one in for movement with another cacher. So we dropped along the way but didn't want to cramp it so brought back. Mr Earthquake is going to AK tomorrow and will be searching for a light house and will leave it there either way.
