Large coin with heft.  1.75 inches 3.5 mm thick misty gold.  500 coins minted.  Available in other metal colors.  The front has lots of nice metal texture. The medallion shows the shape of Pennsylvaina and excellent 3-D work on a bottle of wine, a glass and a bunch of grapes. Slight use of enamel is used on the wine and the flag that marks the northwestern site. The rim has script that reads "Northwest Pensylviania" and a ribbon that has s cript that reads "2006" (even though the coin was released in 2005).  The reverse continues the excellent metal texture. The medallion has the commercial symbol done in traditional enamel colors.  The rim has a circle of raised dots.  Nice coin.

Info on the coin:  After YemonYime started the pre-sale of "The Official 2005 Pennsylvania Geocoin" on September 24, 2005 in the geocaching forum, Facedances announced the release of a new Northwest Pa coin only 2 months later. The production of the geocoins in satin gold and satin silver was taken over by CoinsAndPins, which also minted 25 coins in copper. On January 9, 2006, the first finished geocoins arrived at their new owners. 

The 44 x 3.5 mm geocoin shows a wine bottle with the inscription NWPA, a filled wine glass and a bunch of grapes on its front in front of the slightly sunken outline of Pennsylvania. Grapevines delimit this representation on the left and right edges of the coin. At the top you can read in fine, green-filled lettering: Northwest Pennsylvania Geocachers. At the bottom, the year 2006 is written in a green band. The reverse shows the Geocaching.com logo, which was provided free of charge by Groundspeak at the time.
