Project A.P.E. Geocoin

Project A.P.E. Geocoin

In 2001, fourteen geocaches were placed around the world in conjunction with 20th Century Fox to support the movie ‘Planet of the Apes’. Each cache represented a fictional story in which scientists revealed an Alternative Primate Evolution. These original caches were made using specially marked ammo containers. Each cache had an original prop from the movie. Only a few Project A.P.E. caches exist today.

This Geocoin commemorates that event, and although the majority of the original caches no longer exist (Mission 4, Southern Bowl in Brazil is the last remaining one) it would be nice, if at some point in it’s travels, it was able to travel as close as possible to those sites as possible.

Note, this geocoin is small (1” x 3/4”)
