The coin wants to travel all over the World, spreading knowledge of Finland and the Finns and perhaps return home some day. It would be especially happy to meet Finnish emigrants or their descendants on the way. As most Finns, the coin is a bit shy and does not really want to participate in events.
The Finns are an extraordinary people living on a remote northern corner of Europe. To most people this land would appear practically uninhabitable with the long, cold, dark winters and short summers. The Finns, however, have survived there for centuries, enduring famine, oppression and wars. It has required strength, courage, determination
- and a lot of swearing. Of all the Finnish swearing words, "Perkele" is one of most widely used. It is probably the most powerful swearword in any form of language known to man. When uttered by a genuine Finn, it starts with a loud "Pang!", reaches its climax in a strong and resonant 'R' and eventually fades away into a hiss through gritted teeth. Lesser men are known to faint at the sound.
