Day # 142 of daily caching. Leon St and I planned to start the day early, hunting a couple of caches before attending the event. But things do not always go as planned. The Grade 8 female member of MadSons wanted to attend a debate event at Pretoria Girls High, and I had to cancel my plans with Leon St. And then ROTSIP published a few caches late Friday evening. I then decided that, if no one log these caches Friday evening, I shall hunt for them first thing today. Well, at 05h00 there was still no logs, so I headed from Centurion to Randburg on the back of the Busa. 20 minutes later I was on site, filled the fuel tank and started the search. The hint helped a lot and the cache was soon in hand. I was very disappointed to see Wildbirds and DamhuisClan names in the log, found 6 hours earlier. 5 minutes later I signed the partner cache log, and then left a note to other cachers to indicate that it was futile to hunt for the FTF on these two. I then had more than enough time to try for the third newly published cache, Rietfontein Birds, although I thought that the reserve would still be closed that early in the morning. I was glad to find an open gate, drove up to the cache and signed the clean log sheet. As I headed back to Centurion to do my fatherly duties, Leon St and W@lly drove up. Sorry guys. After attending the debate I realized that there was still time, so I drove to Randburg a second time, this time with the tallest Son, to attend the event at Delta Park. It was great seeing all the cachers and catching up and eating and discussing the Mega!! Managed to log Graffiti Circle as a bonus. We then headed home, picked up the BOSS and drove to Kempton Park to fetch a camping trailer that the BOSS had bought. There I discovered that we were between 2 caches, Pumula Park and Water bird heaven. Ai tog, how does one resist these temptations? Must have been a sight, the Landrover with the off-road trailer in the suburban parks. Thank you one and all for a great day!!!
