About This Item

Jaroslav Foglar (1907 - 1999) is the one of my favourite writers. He was a famous Czech author, who wrote many novels about young Boy Scouts and their stories in nature and dark city streets.
While they may be considered ideological, his stories are not mere fables, but are based upon his long-term work with children on summer camps and in club-rooms. I've chosen my GC nickname Rikitan as a name of main character from Foglar's novel Boys from the Beavers' river.This geocoin was emited as a remembrance of Jaroslav Foglar.

Jaroslav Foglar (1907 - 1999) je jednym z mojich oblubenych spisovatelov. Je povazovany za najvyznamnejsieho ceskeho autora knih pre mladez.
Pod prezivkou "Jestráb" viedol po cely zivot skautske oddiely, z tohto prostredia cerpaju namety aj jeho knizky plne uslachtilosti, odvahy a nezistneho priatelstva. Pri vybere svojho nicku Rikitan som si dovolil rozhodnut sa pre meno hlavnej postavy z Foglarovho nesmrtelneho dielka Chlapci od Bobrej Rieky". Tuto mincu som poslal do sveta na pripomenutie Jaroslava Foglara.
