Current Goal

The goal of this TB is to make it to Esperanza (Hope)which is a slum on the outskirts of Guatemala City.This worry doll was made by impoverished Guatemalan women who live there.

About This Item

1.5 inch guatemalan doll earring. Guatemalan women who live in these slums have worked together and have developed a community medical clinic, a dental clinic, a scholarship and tutoring program for their children, an infant growth monitoring program, a breast-feeding promotion, a daycare center, and a craft project that generates income for the individual women and for the community programs. Most importantly, they have maintained a spirit of hope, which many in similar circumstances lost long ago.
