Bob would like to go to anywhere to do with outdoor sports and activities.
If you could take photographs of him on his journey and post them with your log, that would be fantastic!
This Travel Bug used to be a Belay device, it was stolen and was generously refurbished by 'Sue and Bernie'.
A Belay device is a piece of gear used in climbing with ropes. It is not held by the climber, but instead by a second person who is on the ground. It is essentially used to create friction on the rope, allowing the climber to fall off the wall without falling to the ground. The person doing the belaying can use the device to lock the rope in place or pull in slack rope as the climber climbs.
This device was owned by my fiancee, who climbs regularly, and has even climbed on ice!
May I remind whoever took it, that it is NOT safe, so please do not attempt to use it.
It is now a type of caribina, another (much more well known) device used by climbers.
This one is not as strong or as safe as those used by climbers, and obviously should not be used.
