Oceanic flight 815. Please don't lose me!

This plane does NOT want to get Lost.  It belongs to hartmasm and wants to win the family distance competition. 

And they're off!!  On Thanksgiving weekend 2010 each member of our family selected a travel bug to enter into a race.  We are seeing who's bug travels the farthest.  Every holiday, we will update and give a present to the sponsor of the bug that traveled farthest.  FIrst stop is Christmas, so please, if you pick up one of our bugs, keep it moving.  Please don't keep it and dip it.  Root for your favorite racer and check back for updates!
12/4/10:  all bugs have been picked up""  Now let's see who's gets placed the farthest...
12/22: a few days until the first leg is over.  Oceanic Flight 815 is leading the race, and in the hands of a cacher has the potential to pick up some additional miles before the 25th.  The cat's meow is a not too distant second, queens stars and alien are nearly tied for 3rd with Pinky bringing up the rear. 
12/27:  no new activity before Christmas.  Hartmasm, our boy, won the first prize (M&Ms and a car can of Eclipse gum).  Flight  815 went 58 miles, Cat's meow went 44 miles, queens stars went 16 miles, Alien went 12 and Pinky went 8.  Pinky is in the hands of an out of towner, so has the potential to pick up some miles soon.  The next mark will be the next holiday we are together.  Not New Years, the girls will be in Spain, we'll see when we are all home again"" 
3/20/11. First day of spring, not an official holiday and we are not all together, so no prize, sorry beadle.  But here's the update.  After a strong start, flight 815 has fizzled "" .  Pinky, who got off to a s-l-o-w start has gained momentum and is leading the pack "".  Feeling a little smug there, Pinky?  Here's the stats:  Pinky at 2729 miles is vacationing in sunny California"" .  Star traveler has gone 249 miles, cat's meow has gone 69 miles, flight 815 has gone 58 miles, and bringing up the rear is the alien with 12 miles. 
9/5/11 Labor day update:  Flight 815 has gone missing.  Has not moved since December.  Will release the copy tag soon.  Last place, 58 stinkin' miles.  Sorry Stevo.  The cat's meow in 4th place with 638 miles has been in a busy cache since May.  Hoping that it is just lost at the bottom of the box, it is small, after all.  The queen's star traveller is on the move with 3860 miles,  It got a great boost when bhflsybish's took it to Scotland.  How cool is that? In second place, on a tour of Canada, is pizza planet alien with 4099 miles.  Pewterandsteel is busy caching today, adding miles.   Pinky went 6777 settling in on the big island in Hawaii.  Been there in a busy cache since May, though.  Little worried about this one, but giving the others a chance to catch up.  Mhartman and I were in Hawaii in April.  This cache is the next one north of where we stopped caching.  Two international travelers in our group of travel bugs.  Thanks to all the cachers who moved them along!

11/24/11:  Happy Thanksgiving! Been a year since these guys were released, and what adventures they have seen!  We have a few of them who seem to be stuck, and one that I'm pretty sure has genuinely been lost.   Will be replacing Oceanic Flight 815 with its copy tag.  Going to drop it in NYC (we're here for the parade!) so I hope it will get a good boost.  Holding out hope for Pinky and the cat's meow.  Will drop the copy tags in spring if we don't hear from them before then.  Here are the stats:  Pinky, non moving since May, still has the highest total with 6777.  Pizza Planet alien is on the move with 6027 miles.  The Queen's star traveler is holding the middle with 3860.  Bringing up the rear are The cat's meow with 638 miles and Flight 815 with 58 miles.
