I have lots of fond memories beginning back when I was a boy and my Aunt and Uncle used to take me camping every summer up to Heartstone Point Camp Ground on the shores of Lake George, NY. What fun. This all ended a number of years ago when we (my wife, my son, his friend and myself) were camping one spring break at Guadalupe River State Park in Bergheim, Texas. We showed up right at dark in the rain. Got our site picked out and set up in the rain. I knew the tent was getting a bit old, but when my wife exclaimed it was raining inside the tent I knew we had problems. The neighbors were very loud and I guess we got to sleep some time after 2 am. Well the noise began again at 5 am, but the rain had slacked off some. We got up and I told my wife I would take the boys hiking while she was working on breakfast. I got back just in time to see my wife tossing the tent into the dumpster and proclaimed her camping days were through. While I was off with the boys she was one busy beaver. She had made reservations at our favorite cabins and had the car almost all packed up.
