Current Goal

Call me B9. I am a Class M-3 Model B9, General Utility Non-Theorizing Environmental Control Robot. Originally designed and programmed for the crew of Jupiter 2, I was safely returned to Earth. I am not "Lost in Space" anymore! I am now programmed to be your partner as you explore the third planet from the Sun in our home solar system. I have only one mission: to protect you from danger as you take me with you to your next geocache find.

About This Item

Danger, Will Robinson!

3" plastic replica of robot B9 from Lost in Space. Started on his earthbound journey on July 9, 2010, in a felt bag to protect his features. Of course it went missing.

B9 was a Class M-3 Model B9, General Utility Non-Theorizing Environmental Control Robot, designed and programmed for the crew of Jupiter 2. Lost in Space was a science fiction television program with 83 episodes airing between September 15, 1965 and March 6, 1968. The Robot had no given name. Although a machine endowed with superhuman strength and futuristic weaponry, he often displayed human characteristics such as laughter, sadness, and mockery as well as singing and playing the guitar. The Robot was performed by Bob May in a prop costume built by Bob Stewart. The voice was dubbed by Dick Tufeld, who was also the series' narrator. The Robot was designed by Robert Kinoshita.

In honor of the 2018 release of the revival as a Netflix Original reimagining of the classic 1960's science fiction series, we obtained a replacement of the original. In the remake, the robot is very different, an alien that is only mysterious. After two seasons (third planned for 2021), we still don't know if the robot is a friend or foe. We are told he somehow caused the initial crash and killed members of the crew, but it makes friends with the 2018 Will and saves several crew members.
