Sammy the Sailor would like to sail on as many stretches of water as he possibly can from small ponds to mighty oceans! Photos of Sammy out on his adventures would be very much appreciated. Land Ahoy Shipmates!

Sammy is a very special travel bug who has been sailing around the world since I released him into a cache by The River Thames in London in December 2010.

He has been immensely lucky with the cachers who have found him who have posted some fantastic photos of him enjoying playing on and around water all over the place!

Just one thing please don't dip Sammy unless you are going to take photos and write logs....I would like his caching adventures to be enjoyable reading for everyone

Many thanks to all the brilliant cachers who have taken up his challenge and I hope I get to continue watching Sammy having fun for a long time to come...

Well well well Sammy is spending the festive season in the sunshine state of Florida thanks to Pewter&Steel.....lucky Sammy!

It has now been a year since Sammy set sail from The river Thames in London. So far he has travelled 26511 miles and has had 83 photos posted!

This travel bug has been exceptionally lucky with the cachers who have found him who have really taken up the challenge.....long may it continue!

  • Sammy's Farewell tour I took Sammy on a small tour of Ocala today before dropping him off at a cache. He is located a couple hundred metres from a church. So hopefully he will enjoy Carols on xmas eve and xmas day. The congregation was just starting to arrive as we left.
  • Sammy with the big xmas tree at the town square Ocala does up the town square for xmas each year. All the trees are lit up with micro lights, thousands of them.
  • Sammy with Ocala Art Horse Ocala has painted horse sculptures all over the city, each one being painted differently. This horse was in the town square beside the huge xmas tree.
  • Xmas Horse While we were driving to the cache site we spotted this art horse in a parkette. Looks like he is ready for xmas!

  • Daytona Beach Took Sammy to Daytona, did not get a chance to geocache there. Am looking for a suitable place to drop him.

  • Water at the Masquerade Ball Cache This cache was too small to deposit Sammy and I don't think he likes this kind of water feature!! Its either a sess pond or a rain overflow pond
