Ahoy, I'm Gruff Rustbeard, the pirate. I want to travel around the world. My journey has been quite adverturous already. I even had gone missing for SEVEN years. But one fearless adventurer, let's call him Captain Tim the Honourable Plunderer of the Southern Coast, found me and brought me back to life. Thanks to him, I am back and as good as new. If you take me with you to another cache, please share our adventures, when you log me. Be nice to me or the curse of my pirate ship will follow you anywhere you go!

Originally, me and me crew were aboard our ship, The Squiggly Mermaid. After one night of too much rum and roaring laughter in a little bar at the harbour, we lost it! No one could remember where we left it. What terrible pirates we were!

So we decided to study "the art of pirateing" with the best professor we knew: the one-legged Nepomuk. But to be allowed to study with him, we all had to travel the world for 3 years and 1 day. We wanted to meet again in April 2014- but things didn't go as expected. Husky Holperich, Half-blind Harald, Handsome Muck and Baldheaded Pepe never came back. Rumours have it that Hans the Brave returned and finished his studies with one-legged Nepomuk. What a lucky mate! The last seven years are a blur to me. I've got no idea where I was or what had happened to me. I suspect it's got to do with the mermaids and their songs that cast a spell on you. Well, by Neptune's fortune, I came back! Thanks to Captain Tim, the Honourable Plunderer of the Southern Coast. And here I am! Still a-plundering and visiting every corner of the world. I don't need one-legged Nepomuk and his dusty books. I've learned everything there is to know. And I want more! Arrr!
