About This Item

Eileen's Spoon River travel bug is a tribute to my cousin Eileen and all of the people in small towns across America. The "Spoon River Anthology" by Edgar Lee Masters is widely acknowledged as a literary masterpiece written about the good, and not so good, of small town life.
Eileen lives in the smallest of small towns not far from the area that inspired this book. Life has not always been easy for her or her family. She lost a leg many years ago and spends her time in a wheelchair, yet her spirit is strong, her personality is warm and engaging, and her approach to life is an inspiration. I hope that you will help us deliver this book to Eileen by placing it in Geocache sites in small towns across America. While the book is in your care, please find a page that is interesting to you and sign your name(s) and town on that page. You're welcome to add a note to Eileen and the signature of friends. I know she will appreciate it.
After the book has traveled to many small towns, I will post an amended message here revealing the name of the small town where Eileen lives. It is my hope that this travel bug will eventually find its way to a nearby Geocache and then be delivered to her. Thank you!

    Found this TBug in Salt Lake City, Utah, and will move it along down South to the small town where 'my people' come from. Of course I'll have to do some reading before I drop it off. Great idea for a bug!
