The Von Fanges, from northeastern Nebraska in the United States, have signed over 100 challenge cache logbooks, at least one of which is related to moving and discovering trackables. We almost always retrieve any trackables that we find in a cache and do our best to discover any that are shared at events, but in just over three years of caching we are still way short of the number and type needed to meet the challenges so I am very appreciative of people who are sharing their trackables on various social media platforms—hopefully, I will not “virtually” discover a trackable that was not meant to be shared this way. If you did not personally share the TB code, I apologize for posting a discovered log. I hope that you will allow the log to stand since I actually did find the necessary logging information without using a code generator or other means although after a week of logging every single trackable individually my daughter has showed me how to use the “discover trackables” tool on Project-GC which allows you to discover multiple trackables simultaneously. The downside is that every log is identical, it is more difficult to personalize the log to a trackable or trackable owner, and you don’t know until afterwards if you made a typo resulting in a TB Code(s) that is no good and then you won’t know which specific code(s) was the problem. Even though it takes substantially more time I may return to logging every trackable individually since it allows me more flexibility but I will definitely remember this option for logging at an event where a more generic log is to be expected. I will be trying to discover a few Travel Bugs every day until I reach the number needed for the challenge but probably will not take time to differentiate the dog tags from geocoins even though I really only need to discover dog tags.

Thank you, Jenn Rogers for sharing this trackable code on Facebook. If you ever want to add a few miles in the United States to any other trackables that you own, feel free to reach out to us. We will gladly take trackables on a journey with us—visiting every cache that we do although we are not currently doing a lot of caching (mostly staying home and staying away from other people).

PLEASE COME AND HAVE A LOOK AT MY PROFILE

I’m DARKSIDEDAN aka Daniel from Canberra, Australia and I have had the pleasure of finding your Trackable Item during my travels as a Geocacher. I have added this trackable to my growing list of discovered items.

I love discovering Geocaches, Trackable items and collecting Pathtags. I hope that you enjoy Geocaching as much as I do. For me geocaching is a way of life. When I am not Geocaching, I am thinking of Geocaching. I would like to say a very big thank you for releasing your trackable for the Geocaching Community.

Here is a little information about me. I have been geocaching since 2015. At the time of finding this cache I have over 7500 finds plus 700 hides. I am the creator of the “Duck Dip” Lab Cache that won 2nd Place for the Australian Capital Territory in the State Vs State - Battle of the Lab Caches at the OzGeoMuster - The Gong Mega 2019 in Wollongong, Australia.

Now let’s talk Pathtags. Currently I have over 9600 Pathtags in my collection plus about 500 Etagz. I currently have four of my own Pathtags including 45762 & 46950 with another one in the works.

Here is an Original and One of a Kind, Geocaching Poem that I have written. I hope that everyone who reads it gets some enjoyment out of it.

    Geocache Poem by DARKSIDEDAN

My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
    Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.
