This how Lady Liberty was picked up from Wait Until Dark:
Today is my son's seventh birthday. We decided to do our first night cache at Avian Haven by SliderLee and SnoWake at N 38° 01.536 W 122° 05.851 - Waypoint: GCG09Z. We thought that was fun. My brother-in-law and his friend were in the area (from Reno) celebrating my Bro-in-law''''s 27th birthday. We asked if they would like to go on a night cache. We stopped by REI before on our way back from Avian Haven to pick up LED headlamps. So cool! When my Bro-in-law arrived we took off for Wait Until Dark. This was/is, by far, the coolest cache I have ever been on. My bro-in-law and friend thought it was pretty cool, also. My now seven year old was having a little trouble with the climb... but enjoyed the find.
My crew took: a Book Pal, a Jesus Fish (I sure that is not what it's called...sorry for not being PC), Tattoos or Stickers, and a Magnifying Glass. We left: One Dollar Bill, M&M Plush Toy, Purple Marble, a Pokemon Card, and a Lego Man.
I took the travel bug, Lady Liberty. It is my first one and the last few days, I haven't been taking anything, just the crew has, and I've been doing the log. This time, I was so facinated by the TB, that my wife wrote the log while I read about the TB.
Early today we were at Walmart and I found Fire Fly's in the hunting section... not the exact same kind, but close. I plan on making one like this because I love to hide as much as I do to find... and this was cool. Call it ego, but I have to try to make one like this.
This is almost, if not, a multi-cache, at least in my opinion. Also, I think it would be even more of a challenge to suggest a day search. Difficulty being at least a 4. You would have to examine every tree on the way up! Maybe not... but the thought!!!!
Thanks for the great cache, adventure, and inspiration. Oh, and we saw a deer on the way up!!! Cool eyes!
