Current Goal

Meet the Haiku Bug. He would like to collect as many haiku as possible in the US and then take these to Japan for their enjoyment and additions from the home of the haiku. I would like to see the bug get to each of the fifty states before going to Japan to ensure a good sample of American talent. Please log your Haikus on this site as well.

Haiku Bug

I am Haiku Bug,
I seek the islands Nippon,
Across the calm sea.
Please add a haiku, your own or a favorite by someone else, and pass the bug on. Remember a haiku is a Japanese lyric having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables. Traditionally haiku invoke an aspect of nature or the seasons, but we are not going to be that picky.

Also, please log your haiku when you log the bug so that those of us who proceeded you may enjoy your talents. Thank you in advance for your efforts. If you chose not to write a haiku, no one will think less of you, but do enjoy the verse in the book before you pass it on.
